The Charlotte Fire Department hoisted a giant American flag from the top of a ladder truck to welcome participants to the annual Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Conference May 14-18, 2011. The association, organized in 1965, anually brings together the fire chiefs of large metropolitan fire departments to share ideas, information and experiences.
