Currituck_Beach_Lighthouse_003.JPG
The Currituck Beach Lighthouse, one of the few North Carolina coastal lighthouses that visitors can climb to the top, is located on the Outer Banks in Corolla, North Carolina. With its red brick exterior, the lighthouse is an example of Gothic Revival architecture. Located in the town of Corolla, the Currituck Beach Light was the last of four beacons placed at intervals from Cape Henry, Virginia to Cape Hatteras. Like other lighthouses on the North Carolina coast, the Corolla Lighthouse / Currituck Beach Lighthouse still aids ships in navigation. Charlotte NC photographer Patrick Schneider has extensive photo collections of the following lighthouses: Bodie Island Lighthouse, Bald Head Island Lighthouse, Cape Fear Lighthouse, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Cape Lookout Lighthouse, Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Diamond Shoal Lighthouse, Federal Point Lighthouse, Oak Island Lighthouse, and Ocracoke Lighthouse on Ocracoke Island.
