Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger was in Charlotte NC to greet the arrival of US Airways Flight 1549, also known as the Miracle on the Hudson plane, at the Carolina Aviation Museum in Charlotte, NC. Two years earlier, the commercial passenger flight was enroute to Charlotte/Douglas International Airport when it was successfully landed in New York's Hudson River after striking a flock of Canada Geese six minutes after taking off from LaGuardia Airport.
