Charlotte-Douglas International Airport new 9,000-foot runway. It will be the fourth runway at the airport and the third parallel runway, providing the hub with more capacity to handle aircraft approaching at the same time. The fourth runway will increase the number of planes that can land and take off at the airport by 33 percent.
