Kite boarders catch the strong winds of the Caribbean Sea and make waves in Aruba. One of the newer watersports available today, kite boarding uses large, inflatable kites harnessed to participants by rope. Standing atop small surfboards with footstraps, the kite boarders can skim the water's surface up to 30 miles per hour and are able to jump high into the air. Aruba remains a popular tourist destination, with international planes and cruise ships arriving daily. Aruba, part of the Lesser Antilles, is famous for its white sand beaches, blue/green waters and mild climate.
